POSTERITY

Clouds as far away as Waikiki

Captured for posterity

In a dowdy magazine:

Blowing palms, surreal green,

Every waving chloroplast

Focused on the faded past,

Subjects Photoshopped by mold

Lost inside the centerfold,

Antique oceans in the void,

Formerly by Polaroid,

Pouring through the withered page,

Colors desolate as age,

Royal palms bright with bleach,

Close-up places out of reach,

As the ocean, washed out, dull,

Frames the future of a gull,

A memento of the passè sea

Exposed early to infinity.
