AND THAT'S THAT

What's the opposite of hat?

Maybe it's the doorway mat.

Why? Because a hat

Is something where

You put your hair:

With a mat, you can't do that.

You can put your head

Into the air instead,

Or even into, if you dare,

A large and scary teddy bear.

But a mat, let's admit it,

Is just too flat; it's not permitted

To put your face

Where there isn't any space,

It's something that you sha'n't do,

Even if you really want to.

And so I think I've proved

My point. I hope you're moved.
