Ice forms on stones like linen sheets,
Each rock covered in a mold
Of white, one pointed needle-like
At ground, another rolled
Like sparkling pillows in the sun.
They form, these casts, their own
Idea of dreams, bedposts of their mountain
Stream, and while the river flows
Around them like the drowned,
Blanketing each corner of the mounded
Creek, they lie like bodies
In a water bed, frozen in their sleep.
